I have lived on the river off and on for most of my life.I was born in Ky. and as a child I spent many hours walking the shores of the Ohio river.I learned how to swim there. My Mother was against us swimming there after our cousin lost his life when the undertow took him.We still would sneak away in the hot summer time and go to the boat yard an jump from the barges. Now that I am very grown up,I think about how dumb we were because the waters there are very dangerous.
I live on a small river now,and hope to be here forever.I can't see me living anywhere else.I cant wait in the morning to get my coffee and go outside with the sounds of the wildlife and the peacefulness and beauty of it all.I feel God has blessed me,to have a place like this, because I have a very deep love for nature.
I enjoy feeding the birds and have alot that feed here year around. We have eagles that we can watch year around but are more in the winter.Ever day on the river is an adventure it seems.
I have been flooded many times,One of the worst was an ice jam in February when the ice moved early. The ice was jammed up for 10 miles, and was piled 15 feet+ high, but I wouldent think of ever leaving,It is in my blood and I couldent be happy anywhere else.
