Some pictures I took at my place here on the River this spring!
Wildflowers that are the first to bloom here, and I have no ideal what they are called but, I like the intense blue flower.
The Pelican migration took place here in April. Some are still around. Fun to watch them float down the River.
The Indigo Bunting is always a nice to see at the feeder.
The male Goldfinches are getting their bright Yellow breeding color.
This is a White Crowned Sparrow. They have been at the feeder all of April, and May but, feed mostly on the ground.

This is a wildflower called Dutchmans Britches. It is the first major wildflower to bloom in the woods. They cover the entire forest floor with their delicate white flowers.
I have been away from the Stream for around 5 weeks, and this is some of the things that have taken place here at my place on the River since I left.
When I first started blogging it was Mushroom season. That was 2 years ago this month. We had a good Mushroom season that year, and this year was also very good. What makes a good Morel Mushroom season is rain, and warm days with some warm nights in April, and May here in Northern Illinois that is. In other states I am sure they come in earlier or maybe later than that. If you have never had Morel Mushrooms fried in butter well... you are missing out on a very delicious delicacy. They sell for about 15 to 50 dollars a pound depending on where you live, and how good the year is.
This is a picture of Grey Morels. They come in first, and tend to be smaller than the Yellows.

It will take me a few days to get back in the swing of things, and get around to visiting, and catching up on what has happened since I have been away.
