We are having some bad storms in my area so I may loose power. Just across the Mississippi river.... they had 95 mile an hour winds in the Ouad Cities..... Lighting was bad. I heard some trees were burning from lighting strikes. 115,000 people out of power. I don't know if its going to be that bad in my area....Mainly rain, and lighting so far. Its likely that I will not be around for awhile.
Dixie - that was a beautiful song and I loved the words and the video pictures; blessings for a safe and wonderful week - recipe will be up shortly - june

I see you had storms too. The ones here were horrible with winds of 100 miles an hour in Iowa, and clocked at 94 in the Cities. We had no warning cause it happen just around dawn. Only one death, and that was a 4 year old boy in a tent. Trees down, and power out all over the place. This is another time that we got lucky, and only got the tail end of it. Thanks for visiting. Hope your Monday is going better now! Dixie

Hi Hailfire, A lot of the old songs do tell a story. I always liked her raspy voice, and this is my favorite song by her.... I am happy you like it too! So hows your day going? Mine is ok. The storms have passed, and now its getting hot again. Love,Dixie

Hi Ron, I have the recipe for the pickles now, So I can try them. The song is a long one so I understand when people don't have time to listen to it. Dixie

I understand. We have another storm moving in now so I may be gone. The storm this morning made it look like a war zone all around me. Trees are down all over, along with power lines. Some guardian Angels must have been looking after me again. Dixie

Hello Trooper, Good to see ya! You must have been in part of that system that hit Iowa, and Illinois. It was a huge storm, and it did massive damage to the trees and power lines. Between flooding, and big storms you have been through a rough spring and summer too so far! Hope the remainder of our good months are not so vicious. Hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks for stopping. Dixie

I hope you didn't get the bad storms. We had some stuff around last night, but it didn't get to my house. I only had a bit of wind & saw lightning nearby. I'm not fond of storms.
I saw a Humminbird yesterday afternoon! It flew by quickly, but I was SO excited!! I hope some more decide to come visit so I can watch them.

Walking! She is not even a year old yet. Thats amazing. I know I started walking when I was 9 months old but, my kids did not walk until they were a year old, and none of the Grandkids walked before they were a year, so she must be above average. I can see you are one very busy Mom. Don't leave much time for yourself when you have two that age. Its good that they will have someone to play with and fight with! Oh.... the fun your gonna have. Love, Dixie

We did not get anymore bad stuff last night even though the weather man said we might. I think after the bad one Sunday they wanted to make sure everyone would be watching and taking cover. I hope your Hummer comes back, if you have a feeder up, I am sure if it got food there it it will return. I went to Lowes last week and bought 3 more of the feeders that stick to the window.... Now my Hummers can eat without fighting... at least that is what I thought but, they still fight, just now they have more places to fight at! Thanks Secret for coming over, and I hope your day is going well. Dixie

I watch lots of birds, and I think they are the most territorial of any. Just before night fall they come to my feeders, lots of them, and there is a constant battle going on between them. You would think they would realize there is enough for everyone but they don't. I guess its just their nature. Thanks Secret, I bet you will see them feeding. Keep your eye out for them late before it gets dark. Seems they like to drink before they go to roost. Dixie
